Rain Rain Rain

Oh this weather!

We met last Wednesday the 15th with the intention of going off in a car share to do some Panning shots of traffic.  This time of year, a 7:45 pm start does not leave a generous amount of evening light but along with leaded cloud cover and intermittent showers we decided we might just probably get wet but no panning shots.  Instead we put the chairs out in neat rows, erected the screen and sat down for an enjoyable evening watching and critiquing some good images from the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU) folio it sends round to member clubs.  We also welcomed Dave a potential new member – which is always nice.

Now, we do not meet again until the 5th of September.  That’s not to say a little social in a local pub may not happen, as most of us do not follow Wednesday evening TV, so the ‘series’ that is riveting the nation is lost on us.

I went shopping this afternoon (well yesterdays now) in the local Sainsburys.  Here I bumped into a lady and her very similar looking companion.  The former of the two, I, and a few members of the club, took photographs of, some four years ago – which again is nice meeting people we have photographed.  The lady, along with another lady, modelled some fantastically Victorian/Steam Punkish outfits; she remembered the occasion and kindly warmed to the suggestion of a return visit.  This might be especially interesting for our newer members.

Night shot taken sat on a park bench in the walled garden at Flixton House. The hat was just something else!  Theme of photo: sat waiting for her Beau but he’s late!
