Regular Comp round 2

Round 2 out of four per year.  These comps allow freedom to the photographer to choose up to six image of choice, three in digital format and three in print format, to be presented in competition.  The judge on this occasion was Mike Lawrence, a very able, knowledgeable and entertaining person on the subject of photography.

The DPI (digital) section was won by Sally Lester-Card with an exceptional photograph of a rose, found by chance on Crosby beach.  See folks, there is a photo opportunity round most corners.  Taking up photography develops the eye to see it and putting images into friendly competition helps hone this into a skill.

The Print section saw Les Walsh, of recent Related Set fame, not only win – but also come second with two out of his three images entered.  Well Done Les!

His winning print had an almost retro feel to it, I thought, and was a well seen and strongly graphic image in terms of shape, tones and contrasts.

The winning images will be posted on the Blog asap and you can judge and enjoy for yourself; meanwhile, the well deserved  photographers receive their trophies from Mike Lawrence.
